Summer Reading

There's a whole lot of reading going on around here.  Some of us are still finishing up our book lists from the school year and others of us are reading for pleasure.

♥ My husband is reading John Frame's Apologetics to the Glory of God.  Light summer reading ;)  He's also reading Dove aloud to the older kids at night.  The story of the young man who sailed around the world fascinated him as a boy, and as Zac Sunderland became the youngest person ever to accomplish such an amazing feat just last month, his interest in the subject was renewed.

♥ I'm reading Praying the Scriptures for Your Children by Jodie Berndt, The Reach of a Chef by Michael Ruhlman,  Jo's Boys by Louisa May Alcott and Swallows and Amazons aloud to the middle and little children.  Swallows and Amazons is a favorite around here and it was time for the girls to get to hear it.

♥ 16-year-old boy is reading Don't Waste Your Life by John Piper and Passion and Purity by Elisabeth Elliot

♥ 14-year-old boy is reading The Bondage of the Will by Martin Luther.  More light summer reading, and I'm sure he wishes he were reading something else right now, but it's catch up time.

♥ 11-year-old boy is reading The Story of Inventions by Michael McHugh & Frank Bachman and Eragon by Christopher Paolini.

♥ 10-year-old girl is reading the Christian Liberty Nature Readers and Midnight Sky by Stephen and Susie Castleberry.

♥ 8-year-old girl is reading Treasures of the Snow by Patricia St. John.

What's on your reading list for the summer?
