Choosing Curriculum, The New School Year, and Reviews

How's your planning for the new school year coming? I feel particularly scatter-brained this year as the result of Mighty Joe's pending neurodevelopmental assessment, two boys in high school and doing a mixture of many things, SAT prep, and three girls smack in the middle. And another preschooler.

If you'd like some help choosing curriculum, I'll be giving a workshop next weekend at the Valley Home Educators convention called (funny enough), "Choosing Curriculum". I also have a recording of it available on MP3:

Additionally, I've been so blessed and privileged to review curriculum for the past five years or so for The Old Schoolhouse® magazine. To date I've written over 90 reviews, and you can search for them and many others here.

Some of you might remember the Marvelous Mondays series that Cheryl of Copperswife and I did two years ago. We touched on our favorite curricula in each subject, and we had a lot of fun. Our family has made changes in some of those subjects, though, so perhaps we need to do it again? What do you think, Cher? ;)

And if you're not all read-out, go read Elizabeth Foss's post on choosing curriculum. It will be worth your time- I promise.
