Chore Chart Inspiration

Everybody Loves Chores.jpg

I recently mentioned on the Preschoolers and Peace Facebook page that I was creating new chore charts for six of our kids this fall. The oldest moves out next week (the oldest moves out!) and the youngest gets a pass for now.

Several readers asked if I'd share, because it's super helpful to see someone else's plan, isn't it? I think so, too. Please feel free to leave your chore ideas in the comments so the rest of us can glean from your experience.

First of all, I do use and love the Motivated Moms app. The lists are done for me (DONE!) and each day I'm given tasks that fall outside of the regular chores everyone else is doing. So while they're emptying the trash, running a load of laundry, and feeding the pets, I am perhaps decluttering the game cabinet or washing down fridge shelves. And I don't have to think about what needs to be done - it's been thought through for me. Love it!

{A few other little things to know about Motivated Moms: an app for Android is coming on October 1st, and if you'd rather have the eBook, then use coupon code CURE for $1 off through September.}

Secondly, do you wonder why the two middle girls have a heavier load? It has always been our practice to ease up on chores as kids get older, passing their jobs down to the up-and-comers. For one thing, the older ones have by this time been faithful for a lot of years, and for another, they just get busier with academics and outside activities. It's time for the little guys to move on up!

Feel free to download and personalize our chore charts, which are in a pdf format.
