Homeschool Mother's Journal

In my life this week:

A whole lot of work to provide you with a better Preschoolers and Peace! I took your input on Facebook to heart and am moving toward a site that will be well-rounded and with a lot of static content so you can easily find what you're looking for.

Valentine's Dinner at home, with salmon, pilaf, some green veggie, and this glorious Creamy Berry Whip:

2 cups frozen mixed berries

2 cups fresh whipped cream, sweetened

1 large tub vanilla yogurt

1 small package French Vanilla pudding

Mix it all together (don't make the pudding with milk- just sprinkle the packet all over the other ingredients) and chill.

In our homeschool this week:

It's February, which means it's business as usual. We have been reading Thoughts To Make Your Heart Sing in our morning Circle Time, and The QBQ during lunch. If my kids have heard me say it once, they've heard me say it 237 times: "Take personal responsibility!" (that's the QBQ)

Places we're going or people we're seeing:

Grandma is coming for a Valentine's visit. My parents are constantly on the go so my kids haven't seen them since Christmas. She always brings wonderful treats and surprises. Honestly, she's the original Martha Stewart, and she does a better job ;)

My favorite thing this week was:

Our church moved into a new building because we were standing room only at the second service in the old building. Growth is a good thing. This new building is where a church we attended many years ago met, so it feels a little funny to be back there.

Last Sunday's service felt like a rebirth of sorts; so looking forward with awe at what the Holy Spirit does when He's allowed to do His thing.

My kiddos' favorite thing this week:

Grandma's visit. And her perfect Rice Krispie squares (Seriously. I don't know what her secret is, but they are perfect.)

Things I'm working on:

Letting my house be messy. What happens when you were raised by the Better Martha Stewart? You have a standard in decor and organization that isn't conducive to the habitation of 10 people, most of whom are under the age of 15 and six of whom are male. So I'm kicking toys to the side of the hallway and letting things "be" just a little better. Until it drives me insane.

I'm grateful for:

Women who pray for me. Friends, mentors, Bible study leaders, mom and mother-in-law, daughters, bloggers; these are the women who have faithfully brought me to Jesus and I am forever grateful for each one.

I'm praying for:

Daisy, and her daddy Britt, mommy Kate, and brother Isaiah (click through for video if it isn't showing in your reader)

Daisy has fought cancer three times, and just two weeks ago, two more inoperable tumors were found. Please pray.

I rewarded my kids this week by:

Feeding them. Clothing them. Haha! Just kidding. Our Valentine's dinner is an annual tradition and is always full of laughter and surprises. I'm not sure it's a reward, but it's certainly a perk of being a Fletcher.

Something I am ogling or have my eye on:

I have a thing for starfish, and I have been a little drooly over this starfish necklace.
