Yes, We Have A Climbing Structure In Our Bedroom

I frequently post pictures on Instagram and Facebook of things happening in our house/family/life. Not long ago I posted some random picture of my bedroom and one of our readers asked on Facebook "You have a climbing structure in your bedroom??"

Yes, yes we do.

Two summers ago, when we were in the midst of many, many consecutive days of temperatures over 100 degrees, I looked out the back window and saw our Little Tykes climbing structure sitting there in the baking sun, getting absolutely no use because it was just too hot.

Then I looked inside and saw that we had lots of room in our master bedroom for something like that. Also, our bedroom is the coolest room in the house in the afternoons and it's often where we we would lay around and read books.

My husband and I talked about it and decided it was worth a try. We cleaned it up, brought it inside and have never regretted it!

Now our two youngest boys often spend the first part of their mornings climbing and sliding, getting out some wiggles first thing. Later in the day it's not uncommon to find one of the big kids building a fort underneath it. Often we will have the little boys do more climbing and sliding after bath time, just to wear them out before bed.

Obviously I don't think that the Little Tykes decorating scheme will sweep the nation, but moms of preschoolers UNITE! Do what works for your family and don't worry about being picture perfect.
