Today's the Day! Penpals Emma and Abby Will Finally Meet

If you have been following Preschoolers and Peace for at least a few months, you'll know that my 13-year-old daughter Abby has had a penpal from New Zealand for the past few years. Emma's mom, Angela, has been a reader for a lot of years, and the two girls "met" because we introduced them to each other via Skype.

Emma is 14 and has been battling Cystic Fibrosis her entire life. She had also been granted a wish by the Make-a-Wish Foundation, but never chose her wish until last year, when she asked to fly to California and meet her penpal, Abby.

You can see the video we took the day the girls learned that Make-a-Wish was indeed granting Emma's wish here.

Today, Emma and Angela arrive in Los Angeles and we are on our way to meet them! I'll be posting as often as I can over the next ten days so you can follow the girls' journey. This is a gift we never imagined!
