Christ in the Chaos Book Club Week Eight
Welcome to Christ in the Chaos Book Club
-Week Eight-
Each week, our format will be the same: we'll read the chapter for the week (chapter one for week one, etc.) and then gather here on Mondays to answer some questions and discuss the book in the blog post comments.
Two rules:
1. Please sign each of your comments with your name and last initial (or full name if you prefer)
2. Please be respectful and remember that the gospel frees us all to be on a journey that doesn't require us to be in the same place spiritually at the same time
Masks
I have to confess that this chapter brought me to tears. Steve Brown's quote (page 87) about wearing masks within groups and churches so that we gain acceptance hit me right where I lived for so many years. Now, living in messy transparency, I grasp true gospel freedom and the "yoke is easy, burden is light" truth that Jesus told us following Him would bring. How about you?
1. Why is it so hard to open up about the dirt in our lives? How does the gospel free us to do just that?
2. What do you think would happen in your relationships if you were more transparent about your sin? How could your transparency help your sisters?
