40 Days of Being Still - Week Two

It's not entirely quiet here.

There are still all these kids! And they have places to go and things to do. But the pull feels like less. A lot less.

The pull to grab my phone in the 3 minutes it takes for a child to find their pencil. The pull to answer every text the moment it arrives. The pull to volunteer to host, lead, and cover. The pull to do what my writing industry tells me must be done, and all the while we're forgetting Whose story we're telling.

His pull is soothing. He's kind and supportive and rock solid. And He has been speaking to me in the quiet.

He's made it clear that my ministry isn't just here, in my home, or to those in my actual community. It's to you. It's to those sweet souls He's brought here to read and share in our story - His story. You often tell me your stories and we do this life together. It's a calling.

So, I'm not going anywhere anytime soon.

And then there are some very cherished moments. I helped Christian clean out the Lego bin and then we created with Legos and Stef's Fall Brick Activities download {affiliate}. Stef is on a 40 Day quest herself, and she nudged me to do this project with Christian. So glad she did.

I didn't stage this pic. It's from my phone and I had to snap it because of the magnet I found while cleaning out the bin. "Sanctify"

Making a fall tree.

Making a fall tree.

Are you finding stillness? Quiet? A measure of peace? On Monday I'll be posting about an advent resource from my author friend and grace buddy, Jessica Thompson and her mom, Elyse Fitzpatrick. They're giving away a signed copy and you could win!
