Homeschool English and Grammar - Fabulous Fridays!
Each Friday for the next few months I'll be updating the popular Marvelous Mondays posts from several years ago, recommending and writing about different curriculum options in all the major subject categories.
This week it's English and Grammar, and I do have two major updates. The first is that after having spent some time talking about WriteShop with author Kim Kautzer, we decided to give it a go with our 4th grader.
Her immediate response, day one, was that this writing program was going to be fun. My immediate response was that this writing program was going to be thorough and teach my always-distracted child to slow down and carefully plan her writing, from brainstorming activities to proofreading the final draft. In between, she's loved the cut-outs, the interaction with me, and the sheer fun of storytelling.
Write With World
The second very excellent addition to our English and Grammar line-up is Write With World, written collaboratively by editors of World Magazine. Write With World is geared toward junior high writers and I reviewed it last year. bby, our 8th grader, is finishing the program this month and it will continue on to our incoming 7th grader. Great for strong and struggling writers alike!
